Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7200 Bissonnet Street about 2:10 p.m. on Thursday (July 17).
The identity of the deceased male, 44, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Cisneros reported:
The male was driving a U-Haul box truck in the 7900 block of Bissonnet when he was involved in a crash. He then fled the scene, crashing into a white Toyota Tacoma at the above address. The U-Haul driver then lost control of the box truck and struck a tree. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The adult male driver of the Toyota suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
