| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man at 2801 Gessner Road about 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday (February 21).
The suspect, Erik Daniel Bonito, 31, is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Bonito is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 26, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call at a healthcare facility at the above address and learned a male suspect, later identified as Bonito, assaulted a man in one of the rooms. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation determined Bonito had assaulted the victim and he was arrested at the scene. Bonito was subsequently charged and transported to the Harris County Jail.
