Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 9913 Aldine Westfield Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9913 Aldine Westfield Road about 3:35 p.m. on Sunday (April 28).  

The suspect, Oscar Ochoa (H/m, 27), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Alfredo Garnica, 39.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and D. Nabors reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Garnica inside his residence, deceased from a gunshot wound.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Ochoa as the suspect and his possible location.  Officers searched the area and located Ochoa at a nearby residence in the 2000 block of Trenton and took him into custody without incident.  He was subsequently charged for his role in Garnica’s death.
