Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 6001 Gulfton about 9 p.m. last Friday (April 26).
The victim, Raul Garcia, 19, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Heaverlo and J. Escobar reported:
Mr. Garcia and a friend drove to an apartment complex at the above address to pick up another friend. While waiting for his friend, Garcia saw the suspect standing in the parking lot. Garcia got out of the car and walked toward the suspect. The suspect then pulled a gun from his waistband and shot at Garcia and his friend. Garcia and his friend fled to their vehicle and the suspect continued to shoot at them as they drove away. Garcia was struck several times. Garcia’s friend was not injured and was able to provide a statement to investigators.
