Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7212 Parker Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding another man at 7212 Parker Road about 7:20 a.m. on Sunday (April 2).  

The suspect, Carlos Andre McCauley, 62, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 482nd State District Court.  A booking photo of McCauley is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

A second male, 66, was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants A. Lopez, M. Holbrook and Detective N. Sharp reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a discharge of firearms call at a residence at the above address.  Officers did not receive a response at the residence and remained in the area as a precaution.  Several minutes later, officers heard a single gunshot in the area of the original location. As officers approached the residence, they saw a male holding a rifle in the driveway.  The male attempted to flee, but was quickly taken into custody.

As officers entered the residence, they found an unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  Another male was located inside the residence with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.  He was transported by paramedics to the hospital.

The male suspect, later identified as McCauley, was determined to be the shooter and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
