Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a male at 5400 Dryad Drive about 8:20 a.m. on September 25.
The suspect, Travoris Jarrell Hines, 17, is charged with murder in the 497th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Hines is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as LePaul Warren, 17.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Nguyen and W. Huff reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and located a male suffering a gunshot wound. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
After further investigation, and speaking with witnesses, officers identified Travoris Hines as the suspect in this incident. HPD Division’s Gang Unit, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Harris County Sheriff’s Office, and Houston ISD Police Department, was able to locate the suspect.
Hines was subsequently arrested and after admitting to his role in the fatal shooting of Mr. Warren, he was charged with murder. He was booked into the Harris County Jail.
