| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 247 El Dorado Boulevard about 11:30 a.m. last Friday (July 9).
The suspect, Christapher Ryan Jones (w/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 179th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Richard Powell, 38.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in a field at the above address and were directed by witnesses to a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene. Officers followed the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect, later identified as Jones, into custody.
Other responding officers discovered Mr. Powell deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.
Following further investigation, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Jones was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
