Suspect Charged, Wanted in Shooting at 5801 West Sunforest Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a woman at 5801 West Sunforest Drive about 8:20 p.m. last Friday (July 9).

The suspect, Jose Fernando Lopez Rauda (H/m, 21), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 263rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Lopez Rauda, who is not in custody, is not available at this time.

The victim, Nolvia Santos Euseda, 23, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer V. Garza reported:

Ms. Euseda and Lopez Rauda were in a prior dating relationship.  Lopez Rauda showed up at Euseda’s apartment and got upset over the fact she had a male roommate.  Euseda then asked Lopez Rauda to leave the apartment.

Lopez Rauda left and returned a short time later and pulled Euseda into the restroom.  He then held a gun to her head and threatened to kill her.  Euseda’s father then kicked open the restroom door and attempted to get the gun away from Lopez Rauda.  Lopez Rauda then shot Euseda once in the shoulder and fled the scene.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported Euseda to the hospital.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Lopez Rauda was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.

Anyone with information in this case or on the whereabouts of Lopez Rauda is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
