Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1423 Oxford Street about 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 25).
The suspect, David Evaristo Acosta, 22, is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court. A booking photo of Acosta is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:
The suspect and a family member were involved a verbal argument at the residence at the above address when Acosta pulled a gun and shot the family member. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased.
Acosta fled the scene, but officers observed his vehicle a short time later and eventually took him into custody without further incident.
