HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Patterson and M. Arrington reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address.  A witness stated Mr. Scott was walking up the street when a suspect drove up in a white Dodge Avenger with the driver’s side window down.  The suspect pointed a gun out the window and fired several shots at Scott, striking him multiple times.  The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle.  Paramedics transported Scott to the hospital.

At about 8:30 p.m. that same evening, Williams was found intoxicated behind the wheel of a wrecked white Dodge Avenger.  He was taken into custody and, at that time, charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #9.  Further investigation determined his involvement in Scott’s death and, on Sunday (May 19) he was charged with murder.
