Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 4218 Crenshaw Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in an assault at 4218 Crenshaw Street about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (April 16).

The suspect, Lou Dustin Granados, 52, is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Granados is attached to this news release.

HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective D. Crandall reported:

HPD patrol officers were dispatched to an assault-in progress call at the above location. Officers learned Granados had assaulted a female and fired shots inside and outside the residence. An HPD helicopter also responded to the scene and was fired upon by the suspect. The helicopter was not damaged and the officers inside were not injured.

The suspect was later detained without incident and officers recovered a gun from the residence.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Granados was subsequently charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
