Houston police have released surveillance photos of a suspect and vehicle wanted in the fatal shooting of one male and the wounding of another at 3316 De Soto Street about 1:25 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 15).
The suspect is described only as a black male wearing a black hoodie and red pants. He was seen parking a white, 2016-2022 Chevrolet Malibu in the area. Surveillance photos of the suspect and vehicle are attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other male was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Vinogradov and D. Crowder reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a public park at the above address and learned that two victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were transported by private vehicles to area hospitals. One of the victims was pronounced deceased at a hospital and the other was in critical condition.
Detectives learned a black male suspect parked a white Chevrolet Malibu near the park and approached the two victims who were sitting inside of a vehicle and watching a basketball game at the park. The suspect then shot both victims and fled the scene in the Chevrolet.
