WHAT: Restaurant fire (rekindle).
WHEN: November 13, 2023, at 10:04 p.m.
WHERE: 9900 block of Kleckley Dr. 77075.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: More than $300,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $20,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Rekindle.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene at the same location of a fire a few hours prior in a restaurant under renovation. Fire was coming from the roof and crews made an offensive attack. They extinguished the fire which had no extension inside the structure. The previous fire had remained hidden in void spaces due to the remodeling techniques. Firefighters remained on scene following extinguishment to ensure there were no more hidden hotspots. 41 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 52, 70, 36, 61 and 93.
