WHAT: Abandoned restaurant fire.

DAMAGE: $200,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find heavy fire coming from an abandoned restaurant. They made a defensive attack and protected the nearby structures. The side of one nearby home received significant damage. Once the fire was under control, crews entered the restaurant and pulled the ceiling to fully extinguish the fire. Live powerlines were found on the side of the building and isolated. CenterPoint was notified and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 44 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 15, 19, 31, 9, 12, 30, 39 and 62.
