WHAT: Residential strucutre fire.
WHEN: April 22, 2023 at 12 a.m.
WHERE: 5000 block of Gren St. 77021.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $94,800 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $57,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (abandoned or discarded materials or products).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find smoke and fire coming from a 1-story residence and made an offensive attack. The structure was ventilated, and a primary search was completed with all occupants out after being alerted by a smoke alarm. The utilities were secured, and the power company was requested. Crews extinguished the fire and contained it to a bedroom, hallway and part of the attic. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents. Firefighters from Stations 35, 23, 26, 46, 25, 40, 24 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
