Houston police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a man 7909 South Sam Houston Parkway East about 1 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 20).
The person of interest is identified as Damarrion Dorise, 21. A June booking photo of Dorise is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 24, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective T. Tyler reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound in a grassy area near the parking lot. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the victim and suspect were involved in a physical altercation inside an apartment. The suspect fired at least one shot, striking the victim. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Investigators believe Dorise may have information about this case and would like to speak to him.
