Linkwood Park Playground Ribbon Cutting

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate the grand opening of the Linkwood Park Playground on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 10:00 am.  The total project cost is $1,033,809.00 and includes design, construction, contingency, and material testing.  This project was funded by: Parks and Recreation Dedication Funds, Parks Consolidated Construction Fund, Council District Service Funds, and funds from The Friends of Linkwood Park.

The scope of work included: demolition, site grading, underground water detention and drainage; new concrete border walls, seat walls and walkways; new ornamental iron fence will enclose the play area; new composite deck and expanded patio; a new swings unit for toddlers and older children; new playground equipment for 2 to 5 year olds that includes a slide, small climber, and stepping pods and a unit for 5 to 12 year olds that includes an observation rope tower, slide, horizontal ladder, and climbing nets as well as a small climbing wall.
