The shooting of a woman at 9700 Glenwood Forest Drive about 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday (July 8) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The woman, 34, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives L. Bolmanski and K. Saulsberry reported:
The woman and a man, 32, were involved in a minor vehicle crash with a male driver (shooter), 49. The three began arguing and the woman struck the driver’s vehicle with a metal bat. The driver then drew his pistol, which he was carrying legally, from a holster.
The woman and her companion then drove around the corner to her companion’s house where he retrieved a pistol from his vehicle. The second driver, who had followed the pair around the corner, then reversed his vehicle in an attempt to escape.
The woman, driving the original vehicle involved in the crash, then chased the man and began to ram her vehicle into his vehicle as he attempted to flee. Her companion, driving a second vehicle, also attempted to join the chase but crashed into a tree.
The first male driver, upon being chased and rammed by the woman, fired several shots at the woman, striking her at least one time.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident, pending a review by a grand jury.
