Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman at 12951 Briar Forest Drive about 2:50 p.m. on Sunday (October 11).
The victim, Caitlin Robinson-Walker, 21, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer B. Fowler reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and determined Ms. Robinson-Walker had been transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
A preliminary investigation determined Robinson-Walker went to the above address with other persons to retrieve property after a recent break up with the suspect. Robinson-Walker forced her way into the apartment, where the suspect was holding a rifle, pointed downward. Robinson-Walker refused to leave and the suspect pushed her out. The altercation continued outside in the parking lot.
At some point, a maroon Kia Optima, with Arizona license plates, arrived at the location and the suspect got into the car. Robinson-Walker approached the vehicle to continue the altercation and the suspect pushed her face with his hand. Robinson-Walker then struck the car window and ran away. The suspect then exited the vehicle, still holding the rifle, and shot Robinson-Walker in the leg. The suspect then fired at least twice more, striking Robinson-Walker’s vehicle as the occupants fled the scene. Shortly after, Robinson-Walker’s vehicle became disabled. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Robinson-Walker to the hospital.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
