Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 11230 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 3:20 p.m. last Friday (March 20).
The victim, 39, was transported to an area hospital where doctors stated he is expected to survive his wounds.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Kimbrough reported:
The victim was standing and talking with two males in the parking lot of a hotel at the address when a black male suspect wearing a blue shirt and blue pants drove up in a white Mitsubishi, with Texas license plates #LJN2204. The suspect exited the vehicle and immediately began shooting at the victim, who ran inside the hotel through a side door. The suspect chased after the victim, continued to shoot at him and struck him multiple times. The suspect then got back into the Mitsubishi and fled the scene.
The witnesses initially speaking with the victim left the scene before officers arrived.
