HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:
Detectives originally responded to a possible kidnapping call in the 11700 block of Teaneck Drive on June 15. During their investigation, they canvased the area for three days and were able to recover video surveillance of a male – reported as missing – walking in the area by himself. After careful review of the case, no suspicion of a murder or a kidnapping was evident. The case was transferred to the Missing Persons Unit for a follow-up investigation that began on June 18.
On Saturday afternoon (June 19), the body of an individual was found in the back yard of a residence at the above address. HPD Missing Persons investigators were in the neighborhood when the discovery was made.
An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the person’s identity and cause of death.
