Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a female found at 3900 North Freeway (North interstate Highway 45) about 11:35 a.m. on August 10.
The identity and cause of death of the female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
An unresponsive female was located on the sidewalk under the overpass at the above address. Houston Fire Department pronounced her deceased. It appeared the female’s body had been burned and showed signs of foul play.
At this time, investigators believe the female is light-skinned, possibly white or Hispanic with dark brown, possibly black hair.
The female’s cause of death will be determined by autopsy.
