Houston police have learned a man injured in a crash in the 15100 block of Waterloo Drive about 3:55 a.m. on August 8 has died.
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeants K. Bui and A. Patterson and Officer J. Trevino reported:
A white Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound at the above address when the vehicle left the roadway and went into a ditch. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported a passenger to an area hospital with critical injuries. Doctors later pronounced him deceased on August 9.
The driver, Jael German Santiago, 19, was transported with non-life threatening injuries. A female passenger was not injured. She stated all three occupants of the vehicle has been drinking prior to the crash. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury in the 178th Criminal District Court. The investigation is ongoing.
