Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9500 West Sam Houston Parkway about 2:30 p.m. last Friday (March 15).
The identity of the victim, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective C. Vaughn reported:
HPD homicide detectives were advised by HPD patrol officers that an adult male was transported by private vehicle to an area hospital after being shot during an altercation with a suspect(s) in another vehicle. Doctors pronounced the male deceased a short time later.
A preliminary investigation indicated the victim was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle when the suspect vehicle, described only as a blue sedan – possibly a Hyundai or Toyota Camry – drove past. Shots were fired from inside the suspect vehicle and the victim was struck.
The incident was determined to have occurred at the above address.
At this time, there is no known suspect description.
