Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 8900 Glenmont Drive about 9:35 p.m. on Monday (May 23).
The identity of the male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective A. Ferrell reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim lying in the roadway unresponsive and with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased.
A preliminary investigation indicated the victim ran from a homeless camp at the location and was chased by an unknown suspect.
The suspect is described only as a black male believed to be in his 40s, about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He is possibly a homeless male staying in the area.
