Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of four other persons at 8627 Glenvista Street about 3 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 24).
The deceased victim is identified as Isaiah Parker, 20. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported: Witnesses stated the Mr. Parker and a group of males were involved in an exchange of gunfire with another group of males in the parking lot of an after-hours club at the above address. Parker suffered an apparent gunshot wound and collapsed nearby, in the middle of the Gulf Freeway service road. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. Detectives learned four other adults – one female, 19, and three males, 19, 18 and 17 – were transported to area hospitals in private vehicles. Each had suffered a gunshot wound(s) in this incident. At this time, it is unknown what started the altercation or if the injured individuals were intended targets.
