| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 8301 Willow Place Drive about 12:25 p.m. on Thursday (October 28).
The identity of the victim, 10, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Vinogradov and D. Crowder reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of the apartment complex at the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the child to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to witnesses, the victim was shot while inside a vehicle with his friend. It is possible the gun accidentally discharged while being handled.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
