| Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7800 Avenue E about 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday (March 11).
The victim, Roberto Mora, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Daignault and Detectives M. Perez, E. May and D. Nabors reported:
Mr. Mora was walking from his house to a corner store as a black or dark, four-door, Mercedes Benz, turned onto Avenue E from 79th Street. The vehicle passed Mora and came to a stop a short distance past him. The vehicle then backed up to Mora and stopped.
Mora approached the vehicle and had a conversation or argument with a suspect in the vehicle. The suspect then shot Mora several times and fled westbound on Avenue E.
