Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5610 Maxwell Street about 1 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 6).
The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective L. Lange reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found the male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
According to witnesses, the deceased male and an unknown female robbed a female victim at gunpoint outside an apartment. An adult male acquaintance of the robbery victim was inside an apartment, overheard the robbery occurring and confronted the suspects with a firearm. Both parties exchanged gunshots and the male suspect was struck. No one else was injured.
The female suspect fled the scene.
