Houston police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide of a male and female and the wounding of another male at 4951 South Cancun Drive that occurred about 12:25 p.m. on Wednesday (July 14).
The identity of the deceased female victim, 39, and the male shooter, 41, are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A second male, 17, was transported to an area hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Senior Police Officer A. Barr reported:
HPD officers responded to a request for a welfare check at the above address and upon arrival made entry into the residence and found the victims. One male was found alive, with a gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics transported him to the hospital.
Further investigation determined the incident is believed to be an attempted murder-suicide, with the deceased male being the shooter.
