Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4000 Lumber Lane about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday (May 18).
The identity of the victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Wilson and Detective J. Escobar reported:
Officers were dispatched to a hospital check call for a male with multiple gunshot wounds who arrived in a private vehicle to Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital at 5656 Kelley Street. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A witness told officers she was with the victim at 4000 Lumber Lane when he was shot by a black male suspect after an altercation. She stated the victim was placed into her vehicle after the shooting and she drove him to the nearest hospital.
