Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 1100 Providence Street about 1:40 a.m. on Saturday (October 14).
The identity of the deceased victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a warehouse where a party was occurring at the above address and learned one man had gotten into an argument with other persons present at the location. The man was shot and killed while trying to obtain property that had been allegedly stolen from him. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers determined a second male had been shot and he was also transported by paramedics to an area hospital. He suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive.
At this time, there is no known suspect(s) description.
