The fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of three other individuals at 10810 Telephone Road that occurred about 4 p.m. on Sunday (October 3) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
The identity of the deceased male, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
A female, Magaly Aguilar, 35, and two males, Abdy Alvarez, 20, and Francisco Alvarez, 41, were all transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Officer K. Clark and M. Nicotra reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the male unresponsive in a driveway at the above address. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
One of the males stated stated a verbal altercation took place between himself and his neighbor (deceased male). His neighbor then went to his vehicle, retrieved a weapon, and began firing multiple shots at the male and his family. Fearing for his life and the safety of his family, the male then returned fire, fatally striking his neighbor.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the case would be referred to a grand jury.
At this time, the department does not believe there is a continuous threat to the general public.
