Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9900 Richmond Avenue about 4:20 a.m. on Sunday (December 6).
The identity of the male victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Warhol and Officer Tran reported:
The victim was driving a black Honda Accord westbound on Richmond at a high rate of speed when he failed to maintain a single lane, went into the median, and struck a tree. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver of the Honda was involved in a previous crash in which he failed to stop and give information. Witnesses stated the driver of the other vehicle was following the Honda when the crash occurred.
The investigation is continuing.
