Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9400 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 9400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 24).

The identity of the deceased male, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer M. Mathews reported: 

The male, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the freeway on an exit ramp at the above address when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling southbound on the West Mount Houston Road ramp.

The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.  Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
