Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 9300 East Hardy Road about 11 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 25).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Rangel reported: Three vehicles – a blue Honda Civic, a red Nissan Altima and a gray Volkswagen Touareg – were traveling northbound at the above address. Witnesses stated the driver (victim) of the Honda was traveling above the speed limit when he changed lanes to the right and struck the Nissan. The Honda began to rotate and then struck the back of the Volkswagen, which was in front of the Nissan. The impact caused the Volkswagen to strike a fire hydrant and a mailbox. The Honda struck the curb and then flipped on its driver’s side. Paramedics responded and pronounced the driver of the Honda deceased. No other persons were injured. The investigation is continuing.
