Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 9000 Town Park Drive about 4:40 a.m. today (January 24).
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R.Bymaster reported:
According to a witness, the victim was driving a white Mazda 3 eastbound at the above address when the driver of a silver Toyota, parked on the side of the road, pulled into the roadway directly in front of the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda unsuccessfully attempted to avoid the Toyota, but struck its rear and flipped over.
The Mazda’s driver died at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota initially got out of their vehicle, but then got back in and fled.
