Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8800 Westheimer Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 8800 Westheimer Road about 5:15 a.m. today (Sept. 16).

The identity of the male victim, 68, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim, a pedestrian with a walker, was in a crosswalk at the above address and attempting to cross the street when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound.  The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.  The victim was deceased at the scene. 

The crash occurred near the Lazy Hollow Drive intersection.
