UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in April Fatal Shooting at 3422 Sampson Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 3422 Sampson Street about 2:25 p.m. on April 27.

The juvenile male suspect, 16, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of murder.

The victim is identified as Alex Morris III, 22.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective T. Tyler reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a parking lot at the above address and found Mr. Morris III unresponsive and lying in the parking lot.  He had been shot multiple times and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased.

At that time, there was no known motive or suspect(s).

Further investigation developed information that identified the suspect as the juvenile male and, on Thursday (September 15), he was arrested without incident.  He was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
