Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8600 Eastex Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 8600 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) that occured about 1:15 a.m. today (Aug. 24).The identity of the deceased person is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer K. JohnsonOfficers responded to a report of a deceased person in the northbound lanes of the freeway at the above address. Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased.  The gender of the victim, whose body was dismembered after being struck by multiple vehicles, is not known.  No drivers stopped to render aid. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.   JFC/JKS      8-24-23Inc #120955423-F
