Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred 3400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 1:15 a.m. today (August 24).
The identity of the deceased female, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer C. Brothers reported:
The female was driving a silver Toyota Camry at a high rate of speed northbound on the freeway. She failed to control her speed and struck the rear of a white Ford F350 with a dump truck bed also traveling northbound on the freeway. The Camry then lost control and struck a wall.
The driver of the Camry was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. The driver, 66, of the truck and the adult male passengers were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
