Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8400 Wilcrest Drive after a vehicle was recovered from the Brays Bayou about 2:25 p.m. on Monday (October 31).
The identities of the two deceased males are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Jewell and A. Mares reported:
A gray Toyota Camry was traveling southbound at the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, struck the concrete edge of a rail and rolled into the water.
A witness told officers a loud noise was heard about 3 a.m. on Monday (October 31). However, at that time the crash was not reported. About 12 p.m., HPD patrol officers conducting a traffic stop were flagged down and an officer observed a vehicle submerged in the water.
HPD Dive Team recovered the vehicle. Paramedics pronounced a driver and passenger deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
