Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8400 Howard Drive about 1 p.m. on Saturday (July 4).
The identity of the male victim, 65, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer W. Smith reported:
The victim was driving a black Lincoln MKX eastbound on Howard Drive, fleeing the scene from a previous crash scene at Howard and the Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45). The Lincoln struck the rear of a tan Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck, which was pushed into a gray GMC Sierra pickup truck that was stopped. The Lincoln went airborne, struck the rear of a Honda Pilot and then rolled over.
The driver (victim) of the Lincoln was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The male driver, 52, and female passenger, 48, in the Chevrolet were transported to the same hospital in unknown conditions. The male driver, 62, of the GMC pickup truck was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
