Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14200 El Camino Real

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 14200 El Camino Real about 6 p.m. on Saturday (July 4).

The suspect, Marquise Thomas (b/m, 27), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 176th State District Court.  A booking photo of Thomas, who is hospitalized, is not available at this time.

The identity of the female victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Leon reported:

Thomas was driving a white Chevrolet Corvette at a high rate of speed westbound near the above address when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree.  The victim, a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.  Thomas was transported to Clear Lake Regional Hospital in an unknown condition.  He was determined to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
