Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 8200 West Sam Houston Parkway South service road (Beltway 8) about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (August 2).
The identity of the male victim, believed to be 14 to 17 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer V. Garcia reported:
The driver of a silver Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on the service road at the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees on the east side of the road. The passenger (victim) was ejected and died at the scene. The driver fled the scene on foot and did not stop to provide medical assistance.
The driver of the vehicle is believed to have a possible injury.
