Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7508 Westheimer Road about 11:10 a.m. on Saturday (January 11).
The male victim, 27, was transported to Houston Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones reported:
The male driver, 76, of a silver Mercedes-Benz GL sedan was traveling southbound on South Voss when he suffered an apparent medical episode. His vehicle first struck a red Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan before running the red light at the Westheimer intersection and striking the driver (victim), whose black Jeep Cherokee was stopped in the eastbound lanes. The Mercedes-Benz then continued, striking four additional vehicles stopped in the eastbound lanes of Westheimer.
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital. No one else was seriously injured. There are no charges in the crash, pending further investigation.
