Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6400 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6400 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 12:50 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 1).The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer K. Johnson reported:The male, a pedestrian, was in the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a black Dodge Grand Caravan traveling southbound, in heavy fog.  Paramedics were called and pronounced the male deceased at the scene.The female driver, 35, was questioned and released.  She and her five passengers were not injured.  The investigation is continuing.  JFC/SOA       1-3-23Inc #000048023-J
