Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 790 West Little York Road

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting incident at 790 West Little York Road about 3:35 p.m. on Saturday (December 31).

The suspect, Kyrie Andrus, 36, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 209th State District Court.  A booking photo of Andrus, who is hospitalized, is not available at this time.

The female shooter, 34, was not injured in the incident.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division detectives L. Castellanos and A. Alobaidi reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and learned Andrus had been shot and transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital in stable condition.  Further investigation indicated the female and Andrus were arguing over a personal matter.  During the argument, Andrus shot at the female but she was not struck.  The female then shot Andrus at least once.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and Andrus was subsequently charged for her role in the incident.
