Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6000 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 6:25 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 6).
The identity of the deceased male, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Mathews reported:
The male was attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a gray Honda Civic traveling northbound on the freeway. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the male deceased.
A witness stated visibility was very low, with fog at the time of the crash.
The male driver, 46, was questioned, determined not to be impaired and released.
The investigation is continuing.
