Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5700 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5700 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 4:10 a.m. on Saturday (March 2).  

The identities of the deceased female victim, 23, and a deceased male, 26, are pending verification by the Harris County institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer R. Guzman reported:  

The male driver of a black Honda Accord was traveling the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes of the North Freeway, and struck a blue Toyota Rav4, head-on, traveling southbound on the North Freeway. 

The driver of the Honda and the female driver of the Toyota were pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. 

The investigation is continuing.
